Nicole Perlroth is an American journalist who is known for her work covering cybersecurity and digital espionage. She has been a staff reporter for The New York Times since 2011, where she covers cybersecurity, national security, and privacy. Perlroth has won numerous awards for her reporting, including the 2019 McGill Medal for Journalistic Courage and the 2019 Cornelius Ryan Award for Best Nonfiction Book for "This Is How They Tell Me the World Ends" And including the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting, which she shared with her colleagues at The New York Times for their coverage of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Before joining The New York Times, Perlroth was a correspondent for Forbes Magazine, where she covered venture capital and cybersecurity. She has also worked as a producer and correspondent for CNN, where she covered breaking news and produced award-winning documentaries on the Middle East and Africa.
Perlroth is a graduate of Princeton University, where she earned a degree in English literature. She also holds a master's degree in journalism from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University.
